At the end of the course, you will have the chance to have a 30 minute one-on-one with me where you can ask any questions you might have about legal translation or your translation career. In this course, we will look at:

  • How to tackle legal terminology (ways to improve your legal terminology knowledge, how to avoid common pitfalls, where to look for terms, how software can help you)
  • How to check your translations (general tips/things to watch out for, error analysis, proofreading of translation, target text review, quality control, how software can help you)
  • How to specialize in legal translation (how you can improve your translation skills, how you can develop your legal knowledge, how you can get the most out of translations through terminology management)

  • 2. Apply translation strategies and techniques specific to legal texts, including contract agreements, court documents, and legislative texts.

Requirements
